Two fundamentally different ways to share
For sharing with specific people
You decide who gets in.
A private ShareCore session is invitation-based. The host shares the session’s private link and join code with the people they want to invite. When someone attempts to join, they enter a waiting room while the host decides whether to approve them.

Private sessions are built for meetings, demonstrations, personal collaboration, troubleshooting, presentations, or sharing your screen with a specific group of people.
For sharing with an audience
Share with an audience.
A public ShareCore session uses a public viewing link that the host can share with an audience. Viewers open the link in a supported web browser and can watch the live session without going through a private invitation and host-approval process.

Public sessions are designed for demonstrations, presentations, broadcasts, events, or situations where you want people to watch your screen without individually approving each viewer.
How Private Sessions Work
Private sessions, your way

The host creates a private session
The host starts ShareCore from SoloSnap and creates a private session.

The host shares the invitation
The host gives invited participants the private session link and join code.

The participant opens the link
The participant opens the ShareCore link in a supported web browser.
They do not need the SoloSnap Mac application simply to participate as a viewer.

The participant enters the waiting room
The participant provides the required session information, including a display name where appropriate, and enters the waiting room.

The host approves entry
The host can see that someone is waiting and decide whether to allow them into the session.

The participant joins
Once approved, the participant enters the session and can view the live shared screen.

The session continues
The participant can use the features available for that session, such as live chat.

The host ends the session
When the host ends the session, the participant’s session access ends.

How Public Sessions Work
Public sessions, open the door to your audience

The host starts a public session
The host starts a public ShareCore session from SoloSnap.

Share the viewing link
ShareCore provides a public viewing link that the host can share with their audience.

The viewer opens the link in a supported web browser.
They do not need the SoloSnap Mac application simply to watch.

The viewer joins as a browser viewer and can see the live shared screen.

Optional public chat
If the host has enabled public chat, the viewer can complete the required email verification to participate in chat.

ShareCore is designed so viewers can join a session from a supported web browser without needing the SoloSnap Mac application.
When someone joins a ShareCore session, ShareCore establishes a live connection between the viewer and the active session so the shared screen can be viewed in real time.

We’re building it for the long haul.
ShareCore is a major future addition to SoloSnap. We’re taking the time to build the experience properly, with privacy, security, reliability, and usability in mind.
ShareCore is not part of SoloSnap 2.0. The two are being developed on separate pipelines with separate release channels.
ShareCore is currently under development.
It isn’t available for public use yet.
