CameraCore is intentionally minimal. It ships with a single unified recording pipeline that shares architecture with AppCore and MobilityCore — so it stays predictable, reliable, and quick to iterate on.
One pipeline means fewer edge cases and fewer surprises.
Error handling is built into the pipeline, not bolted on.

Documents and a magnifier, right on the camera feed
This is the first CameraCore release that supports documents on the camera feed at all. Place up to three of them, magnify the details that matter, and record it exactly as you see it.

Move your pointer across the preview (or use the arrow keys) to drag the video magnifier, and tap a zoom level to change it. Pin, Documents, magnifier, and Filters live on the CameraCore window itself — overlays and the loupe appear in the preview and in the finished recording.
Document overlays — up to three
Add images, PDFs, or text, Markdown, and RTF files onto the preview. They appear live and are included in the saved video. Drag them anywhere on the frame.
Video magnifier
A circular loupe you can drag across the live frame, from roughly 1.5x to 4x. What you see in the lens is what gets recorded.
Document Options
Size, rotation, and horizontal flip for the selected document, plus loupe controls. Auto-orient straightens sideways photos and PDFs.
Documents side panel
Show it with the Documents button for drop or Choose, slot selection, Clear, and Document Options — without leaving CameraCore.
Quick start
- Open your CameraCore capture window as usual.
- Use the Documents button to show the panel, then drop or choose up to three files.
- Open Document Options for size, rotation, and flip; switch on the magnifier if you need a close-up.
- Optionally open Filters for a live look.
- Drag documents and the loupe where you want them, then press Start Recording. Pause and Resume as needed, then Stop.
Good to know
- A maximum of three documents can sit on the frame at once.
- Overlay files are images, PDF, and text, Markdown, or RTF only.
- The magnifier is CameraCore only — preview and CameraCore recordings.
- Overlays don't apply to the picture-in-picture camera used with screen recording.
- Size, rotation, and flip apply to the selected document; the loupe is a separate on-frame tool.
