Privacy Policy — Clean Frame

Clean Frame is built with privacy as a core principle.
Clean Frame does not collect, transmit, or share any data. The app does not connect to the internet. Your guarded app list and settings are stored locally on your Mac only.
What Clean Frame stores (locally only)
Clean Frame saves a small amount of information on your Mac to function:
- Whether Capture Guard is on or off
- The list of apps you have chosen to guard (by app bundle identifier)
- Whether you have completed Accessibility setup
- Whether App Quit Protection is enabled
- A UI preference for "don't show again" on the disable confirmation dialog
This data is stored in macOS UserDefaults and an App Group container on your device. It is never sent to us or any third party.
What Clean Frame does not do
- No internet connectivity — Clean Frame has no network code and no permission to make outbound network connections. It cannot reach the internet.
- No analytics or tracking — No analytics, crash reporting, telemetry, or advertising SDKs.
- No accounts or cloud sync — No sign-in, no servers, no cloud storage.
- No network filtering — Clean Frame does not monitor, block, or filter network traffic.
Permissions
Clean Frame requests Accessibility permission so it can hide windows for apps you choose to guard. This permission is used only for that purpose on your Mac.
The only external action the app takes is opening System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility when you ask it to, so you can grant or manage that permission.
Data and the Mac App Store
Clean Frame is distributed via the Mac App Store. Apple's App Store infrastructure handles installation and updates; that is Apple's process, separate from anything Clean Frame does when you run the app.
