Bug Fixes

New Features & Bug Fixes

• Taking a screenshot of a single window works much better on MacBooks with the notch—it now picks the right window every time.
• Screenshots save in the format you actually chose (PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or HEIC), including when capturing all displays at once. If your Mac doesn't support a format, SoloSnap handles it gracefully.
• The camera recording window is simpler—just Record and Stop. If Quit Protection is on, close the camera window first before quitting the app.
• Notifications now use your Mac's built-in settings (System Settings → Notifications) instead of custom in-app controls, keeping things simpler.
• Helpful tips and notes are still available, now tucked behind one easy toggle so they're less cluttered.
• Fixed a bug where the menu bar icon would briefly flicker after you moved it.
• Text in light mode is easier to read with better sizing and spacing.
• Colorblind modes (red/green and blue/yellow) look more consistent throughout the app and only one can be active at a time, expanding on what was introduced in version 1.5.
• Keyboard shortcuts are more reliable for everyday actions like taking screenshots and starting recordings.
• Floating Toolkit

  A small, movable toolbar you can place anywhere on screen to quickly take screenshots, start recordings, and change settings—handy when the menu bar is hard to reach. It won't show up in your captures, and you can collapse it in Settings under App Behavior.

• Region Mode

  Enhanced region selection now translates your rectangle into the format the Mac's capture system expects, ties it to the correct monitor, and snaps to real screen pixels—especially important on Retina displays—so the captured area matches exactly what you outlined.

• Multi-Display Audio Routing

  When recording all displays at once, you can now choose how audio is handled. One File mode attaches the audio track to a single file; Every File mode includes audio in all files produced. Find this option in the Recording Target section of the Recording tab.

• Shortcuts & Siri Integration

  You can now use Apple's Shortcuts app or ask Siri to take screenshots and control recordings hands-free. Great for setting up quick workflows or when you're juggling multiple displays.

• Uninstallation Script

  SoloSnap now includes a built-in uninstallation script, making it easy to cleanly remove the app and all its associated files if you ever need to.
